Spring, Summer and Fall ~ Snow,Trampoline, Rails and Air Bag
OK Freeski is a division of the Silver Star Freestyle Club. The program goal is to offer seasonal training sessions and camps to passionate freeskiers who want year round training options based out of the North Okanagan and Silver Star Mountain. These offerings will focus on freeski skill and athletic development that will broaden the athletes trick portfolio. Head Coach Wade Garrod works closely with the passionate coach team and leadership team to meet the goals of each individual athlete. OK Freeski will provide a positive, fun, and safe learning environment freeski ATHLETES and TEAMS.
Athletes participating in the OK Freeski Program are making a serious commitment to developing their freestyle skills. Athletes participating in OK Freeski Programs fall into one of three categories: GRASS ROOTS / DEVELOPMENT / PERFORMANCE.
Every athlete signed up for OK Freeski is a keen and passionate skier and strives to learn tricks in the ski genres of freestyle, freeski and/or freeride. Although OK Freeski are focused on the disciplines of Big Air and Slopestyle other it is recommended that athletes train and compete in moguls or freeride during the winter season to build strong skier skills. Skiing, Air and Rails skills are the basic skills developed in this program. Strong basic athletic movements are practiced throughout all levels of this program.

ok fREESKI Grass Roots Programs
OKF Grassroots Athletes are introduced to safe trampoline fundamental skills. Participants in the OKF Grassroots programs are 7-12. The goal is to learn basic landings, take-offs, spin both ways, jump on trampoline safely and perform upright positions and skiing tricks.
Active learning is a high priority. Skills learned at this level are learned then practiced so that the future athlete progresses to more advanced maneuvers.
Invert progressions and skills start at the OK Freeski Grassroots level. Athletes that have strong upright movements will excel at inverts and off-axis tricks.
This program pair with SS Freestyle half day-ski or full day-ski grass roots programs WINTER programs.

ok fREESKI Development Programs
OKF DEVELOPMENT Athletes are keen to progress their freestyle/freeski/freeride skills on the trampoline, dryslope rails and dryslope air bag in the spring/summer/fall.
The goal is to learn basic inverted and off-axis tricks on trampoline and start taking them to air bag and on snow environment.
Another goal for OKF Development is to become confident sliding tubes and spinning off sliding features. Athletes participating in OKF DEVELOPMENT programs are learning and practicing air invert building blocks and progressing towards new rail tricks every session.
The final goal, but not any less important, if for OKF Development athletes to maintain and learn fundamental physical movements. This is done through basic physical conditioning that is integrated with every session.

ok fREESKI Performance Programs
OKF PERFORMANCE Athletes are making a serious commitment to developing their sport specific and athletic skills year around. Athletes participating in OKF PERFORMANCE Programs are in the Train to Train or early Learn to Compete stages of the Canadian “Sport for Life” pathway. They probably have some experience in Timber Tour / Provincial Freestyle events. Although OK Freeski is focused on the disciplines of Big Air and Slopestyle it is recommended that athletes train and compete in moguls &/or freeride skiing during the winter season. Athletes participating in OKF Performance program aspire to compete in provincial, national and international events. OKF PERFORMANCE Program may not be the fit for all athletes this season. Speak to the coaching staff to guide you in the best direction for you this Spring, Summer and Fall.
